And what would you do?
OK, my son has now visited the private school which specializes in kids with learning disabilities and attention disorders. FirstBorn thought it was really great. He wants to transfer, starting tomorrow. I managed to talk him into waiting a couple of weeks, since spring break starts this Friday.
The third grading period (for the county) ends on April 2--two days after he comes back from Spring Break. (The county is running Spring Break from Friday, March 21 through MONDAY,Mar 31.) The private school, TAC, returns from break on March 31.
Here’s the question: Do we start him at TAC on March 31? The plus side--everyone is coming back from break and will be using that week to get back into the rhythm of school. So FirstBorn's appearance wouldn't throw his new classmates off task much more. The downside to starting that week: $2500 versus $2240 if I wait until April 7.
The downside of waiting a week is that we'll be wasting two weeks of learning time with FirstBorn. A concept I find unappealing, given all the time that has been wasted thus far this year.
So, I'm soliciting opinions: Do I send him to the new school right after spring break, or do I save $260 and wait a week?
