9:13 a.m. - 2008-03-11 *FirstBorn & I are having lovely chats with his LCSW. I really need to ask her if I'm a patient, too. If so, I'll start blathering about my self-esteem issues. Otherwise, I'll just try to take notes about how his week went so that I can report. *I talked with a friend who, like FirstBorn, struggled with ADD & school. She recommended after-school tutoring. Once I get over the stigma in my head that only idiots (and she isn't one any more than my son is) have after-school tutoring, then I'll try to find a tutoring service of some sort. If nothing else, I need someone to help FirstBorn with spelling. I just read the words and see them in my head as I hear them--makes spelling easy. Too easy, apparently.... *Screaming Harlot is still obsessed with growning big enough to "ride Mommie's Yellow Train!" Also known as "The Loch Ness Monster"--the 30 year old roller coaster at our favorite amusement park. The good news--she is now willing to eat healthy food. The bad news--she's going to be unhappy when she finds that she didn't manage to grow ten inches in three weeks. A potential bright spot: she might, with the right shoes, be able to ride the Red Wolf Train. We shall see. *After the Sunday that I did the "sermon" at church (did I mention I did a Sunday morning sermon?), I got the distinct impression that The-Deity-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named had plans for me to spend more time in the pulpit. Everyone I've discussed this with (NMH, a couple of people at church, my former pastor) thinks I'd be somewhere between good and perfect for the job. My feelings are still quite mixed. Feel free to weigh in with your opinion. *The two-under-two who I babysit are growing and teething. N, the older, is still eating dirt by the fistfuls. Her foster mom will be talking to the doctor regarding possible mineral deficiencies. M, the younger, is eating jar food, sitting up and crawling. Life is getting more interesting.... *my wedding anniversary (actual) was shortened by one hour, thanks to Daylight Spending Time. Who do I write to complain about that? Because NO ONE cuts short my nookie time! Bastiges.
