woohoo! snow day! boo-hoo. snow day.
Don't get me wrong--the snow is glorious, the babysat are home with FosterMomma, and my kids are watching a movie post-snow-play. I shoveled the steps & the driveway & have prepped things to load up my van full of stuff I'm ditching.
The potential down side: I have a meeting tonight about FirstBorn several miles southwest in a place at a higher elevation than here. The roads are icky and might get worse. FirstBorn is also having a friend come for a sleepover because I forgot about the meeting. My brain was on "snow day=everything is canceled!" So when the friend called and asked to come play & then asked to sleep over, I said "yes." Silly me.
The good news is that I hadn't made arrangements to leave the children w/ anyone. Having a friend around to amuse the children will work out nicely....
Driving might still suck, though. Think safe, dry road thoughts....
