and thank god for bold men
I just read Hothead's latest entry, and it sparked some thoughts in me. Here we go....
When I was young, I decided that the best way to get a boyfriend was to know what boys liked. And the best way to find out what boys like, I presumed, was to hang out with boys. Eventually, my plan worked. But only because I had the good fortune to find guys, dare I say... men who were not afraid to talk in front of women and say what they like and don't like about my half of the sex.
Funny enough, men worth spending time with seem to agree with Hothead. What is sexy is confidence in yourself and an acceptance of your body. My husband, more than once, has surprised me with who he finds attractive and why. Nearly always, it is a woman who isn't being overt with her sexuality--it is a woman who is obviously happy with herself overall. And who has a nice @ss.
Life is so much easier when we stop listening to the voice of marketing and start listening to the opinions of the people we're interested in.
OK, enough ranting. I'm off to take some pain meds to deal with my body's continuing conspiracy to remind me that I'm too old to have college levels of fun and drama. Yes, dear readers, I'm not feeling too sexy at the moment.... This too, shall pass.
When it does, expect to see me back in my bikini top and board shorts! Because I think that style swimsuit makes me look *yummy*! No male has told me otherwise, and I never listen to women much about swimwear....
