my appologies to you all; my wit (and my ability totype w/ both hands) is on sabatical. I'm pretty sure my spelling and grammar want a vacation as well.
the baby is teething. more, still, with minimal progress--naturally. no one warned me that premees liked to teethe for MONTHS with no real advancement of teeth.
And my daughter is now capable of climbing out of her crib with the gate up. This means naptime is going to be about TEN TIMES more challenging. She'll have to go down when the baby goes down, lest she feel she's missing something. I understand her desire to be in on everything that happens. She comes by it genetically on her mom's side, much like her hair.
I'm not sure where the "awaken at 11:40pm crying and unable to go back to sleep" comes from, though. The established routine: she cries for long enough to be really sure she won't go back to sleep without intervention, I get her up, we snuggle on the sofa, she says, "Le's go to the kitchen." Whereupon I fulfil further directives, phrased thusly: "Toast." "Banana." "I want chocolate milk." All said in a very definite manner, with head nodding for emphasis. It is really cute. Except that by this time it's MIDNIGHT and I have to get up in six hours. Which means that I actually get up in five.
Yes, lately I've begun waking before the alarm goes off. And while I do not...how did S.Tart put it..."gather sticks," I do steal some snuggles. I like snuggles. I also like hugs. I am a confessed SLUT for hugs, not that this is news to you all. Aparently it was news, or at least amuse, to my husband. I got a delicious hug last night when he came home--despite the book he was reading. And some comment was made by one of us, which I followed with, "I'm a slut for hugs--didn't you know that?" he laughed and appeared unaware.
