media ranting--part one
God in Heaven *forbid* that a university administration lack omnipitence!!!
The media has been bitching, and people have been buying into, that the university screwed the pooch by not going to DefCon One after the shooting in AJ. Gee, a girl whose boyfriend has guns and took her to a shooting range within the last two weeks gets shot. You people watch TV dramas--who would YOU immediately suspect?? And what would your response be?
I, personally, would have gone looking for her boyfriend. Guess what the cops did? Would I have locked down a campus of 25 THOUSAND people to check everyone for gunshot residue? No. Did the university lock down the dorms until the boyfriend had been found? I'm under the delusion that they did.
So, in my little pea brain, it sounds like the people making decisions did the best they could without God-like powers. And I wish the media would stop being such vaccuum heads about this!!
Of course, I missed watching the coverage yesterday. So I don't know if they've gotten a clue and made any efforts to appologise for demanding omnipotence from the cops and the campus administration. I doubt it.
