1:37 p.m. - 2007-04-16 After the shooting at VT this morning, we now hold the title for deadliest campus shooting. We beat the University of Texas by 21 to 16 dead. Go Tech, Go! It only took fourty years, but... this is not the kind of game one wants to see happen any more often than that. Nonetheless, I hope the Aggies feel a kindred pride of sorts in our victory over their hated rival.... My friends on campus, to the best of my knowledge, are all fine. Since my husband was a graduate of the engineering program, he might know a victim. I hope not. Statistically, the chances are quite low. Much like the comparative student population loss this morning. If 25 people end up dying, that's only about 0.1% of the full-time student population. I thought that this was an annual thing, but this is actually the second time *this school year* for someone to go wild with a gun. Which makes me wonder what is being fed to the cows on campus.... OK, I'm going to read a book that has nothing to do with the snapping of engineering minds. And I'll pray. And I'll go on about my business. And hope that there is no bomb scare for the spring game (football scrimage) this saturday.... Because that is the most important thing!
